Badger

Primary Handler: Emily Gust

This handsome guy is a surrender project we acquired in Oct of 2025. He is sweet and silly, but when he came to us, he needed a lot of work from top to bottom. Our #1 concern was his health. At only 2.5 years old, he had already embarked on a major weight-loss journey, and although the weight was gone, the means of losing the weight had done damage. Excessive exercise and a poor quality diet left the guy with unknown but frequent pain. We first switched his food to a higher quality, upped his intake, worked on extensive kennel rest and rehab, chiropractic care, and massage, and after about a month, we finally got to see who he was!

Badger loves to use his nose! From playing find-it games in the yard to practicing barn-hunt, the big yellow dog is a sniffing machine. Luckily, he is also a lab, and when you ask him to "off" or come back, he does so with 110% of the enthusiasm you would expect out of a young dog.

Badger is also a SNUGGLER. You don't need a weighted blanket around him. He plops his big ol'head directly onto your chest and gives the best couch snuggles you've ever had.

Badger is one of the lovliest labs you'll meet. He is sweet and silly, but respectful. He's slowly starting to learn heel patterns and has a great recall and place. He's just an easy, snuggly boy who loves his people with all he has.
